Dr. Laurie Grisez, N.D.

My passion and belief in the healing power of nature inspired my journey into the field of Naturopathic Medicine, first at an herbal medicine store and at Deschutes county mental health clinic, and then as a doctor. My innate sense of compassion and nurturing is the foundation for healing I bring to every appointment.

Since 2005, I have working together with patients developing individualized treatment plans that result in increased vitality and optimized health. My utmost goal is that you feel heard and supported in your health journey. I encourage self advocacy and for you to listen to your inner healer, so you can live your best life.

I am experienced in a variety of methods, including nutrition advice, custom herbal formulas, constitutional and acute homeopathic remedies, lifestyle counseling, and prescription medications. Additionally, routine and specialized lab work, as well as modern diagnostic tools assist in uncovering the root cause of your health concerns.

In addition to providing patient care as a doctor, I love gardening and making healthy teas and meals for my family from the plants I grow.

Hi there!

My motivation for going into medicine first and foremost is to help people like you. With my unique training I am equipped to assist with your health concerns by listening to you very closely so we can decide together from an array of treatment options from among the worlds of natural, conventional and functional medicine to best suit your needs.

I’ve been practicing Naturopathic Medicine with my wife, Dr. Laurie Grisez, at Blue Star Clinic in Bend since 2005. Blue Star was established in 1989 by Dr. Howard Reingold, ND.

I received my Bachelors of Science in Zoology from the University of Washington in Seattle and a Masters of Science in Nutritional Biochemistry from Tufts in Boston which is where I first learned how plants can be powerful medicine. To best put this new found knowledge to use I moved back to Seattle to earn my Naturopathic Physician degree from Bastyr.

I served on the Oregon Board of Naturopathic Medicine for 6 years charged with cultivating public trust and safety by ensuring the State of Oregon is served by naturopathic physicians providing the highest standard of care.

Although my area of interest is broad, some conditions where I excel are healthful aging, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, immune, musculoskeletal, and allergy treatments.

We enjoy skiing, fishing, hunting, cruising the Salish Sea on our converted commercial fishing ship and camping from Central Oregon to the Olympic forest.
